The Iris 'Mixed Colors', 'Iris bearded', a fall planted bulb, are iris bulbs in mixed colors that are excellent for cutting. The colors run from light blue, purple to yellow and white. These Iris are easy to grow and thrive in moist, well-draining soil. This Iris blooms in mid spring for a 2 - 3 week period. Plant bearded Iris bulbs in 10 to 14 day intervals to enjoy a continuous supply of cut flowers. For a more striking effect, plant the bulbs in groups of 20 or more. In cold areas the Iris should be mulched in winter to protect from frost. The Iris plant is great for borders, containers, naturalizing, and cut flowers. They are deer, rabbit and squirrel resistant.
