How do I care for Garden Patio Furniture
There is no point spending good money on furniture only to let it fall apart
I regularly use my garden furniture so I am keen to look after it, and if you want yours to last you should too! Choose a fine day and gather all your Patio chairs benches and tables together.
Tough plastic (wooden) furniture that has turned green after a wet summer should be scrubbed down with a stiff brush and soapy water ( using a pressure washer makes light work of it).After cleaning off the dirt surface allow wooden items to dry before giving them a lick of paint or wood preservative.Apply teak oil to hardwood furniture as this will keep the wood from splitting and aging. Rub it well into the grain with a lint free cloth.
As all owners of metal furniture will know rust can be a problem.Rub down metal items and treat with an anti rust paint before applyingyour top coat.
All garden furniture will last longer if stored in a shed or garage for the winter.The most important things to bring under cover are plastics because they can fade, canvas items such as deck chairs, parasols and hammocks should be brought inside too.
